This structure, located on the grounds of the Louisville Presbyterian Seminary, served as the Carriage House for Gardencourt, a 14-acre estate overlooking Cherokee Park. Constructed in 1907, it was designed by the Boston architectural firm of Shepley, Rutan and Coolridge. The landscape design of the site was designed by Olmstead Brothers. The owner desired to convert the structure into office space to serve the Presbyterian Church and properties.
The poor condition of the structure required a complete exterior restoration, including masonry repairs, new roof and new windows. The reconstruction followed the Secretary of the Interior Preservation Standards. The interior was adaptively reworked to accommodate its new use as an office facility.
