State Capitol House
and Senate Furniture

State Capitol House, Senate Furniture
Location
Frankfort, Kentucky
Type
Historic Restoration
Client
Commonwealth of Kentucky
Size
9,550 sq ft

This historic preservation project restored the 106 year old House and Senate Chambers, while incorporating new technology for sound, lighting, video and voting systems.

The 1910 era chambers were restored with plaster repair, painting and replacement of carpet and restoration of finishes on the mahogany millwork and furniture. New technology systems were redistributed in modified floor trenches and extended to the senator’s and representative’s desks and incorporated in the legislative communications systems. Historic light fixtures were modified to accept energy efficient bulbs, and desks were modified to incorporate current computer and voting technologies.
