Improving campus circulation provides an enhanced experience for the students, faculty and visitors.

The multiphase execution leverages the deployed construction resources of the construction team building the Belknap Academic Building. The design was coordinated with the team executing the design for the Student Activity Center addition. The new campus street-scape will provide a cohesive linkage from the new campus gateway, created at the University Boulevard turning circle, to the Student Activity Center.

The relocation of the service drive allows for the creation of a new, non-vehicular promenade, setting a future campus standard for separated pedestrian and bicycle flow. By reworking the pedestrian bridge from the parking garage to this key “arrival” moment on campus, the design will enhance the first impression of visitors, staff and student alike, while allowing a safe and accessible entry into this newly forming heart of campus.
