A new 34,000 square foot preschool facility was constructed on the site of the former Northside School in downtown Shelbyville. Included in the facility is a Media Center and Multipurpose room with a kitchen, which also serves as a community use room after hours. Separate fenced outdoor play areas are located for preschoolers and toddlers. Bus and car rider drop off areas are separated.

The building meets Energy Star and Kentucky Green School standards. High energy efficiency systems are used including an insulated concrete forms (ICF) wall system and a geothermal well field provides heat exchange for water source heat pumps.
