K. Norman Berry Associates prepared a masterplan for the campus that would incorporate a new elementary, middle and high school and related athletic facilities.
The first building planned for this campus is a 750 student elementary school. The layout creates a compact plan to minimize hallway lengths and create an intimate learning environment. Additionally, the building mass is broken down into three separate wings, which brings down the scale of the building, while a small tower acts as a clear entry marker at the parent drop off point. Among the building’s energy saving and ecologically friendly design features are: an exterior wall constructed out of insulated concrete forms (ICF), a geothermal system for heating and cooling, a small rain garden and a full site storm water runoff stepped basin purification system.
